The North Carolina Zoo is marking its 40th anniversary, and you're invited to join the celebration! The zoo will open two new exhibits on Saturday and Sunday, March 29-30.

Spokesman Rod Hackney said a new attraction called "Bugs: An Epic Adventure" features 13 giant, animatronic insects.

Hackney said, "One of them is a 30-foot wide tarantula. We have a 12-foot tall praying mantis. There's just a wide variety of these insects."

The zoo will also reopen the renovated "kidZone," which features a rope bridge treetop experience, stone maze, and live animal presentations.
