GREENVILLE -- Governor Pat McCrory is on the offensive to fight substance abuse on North Carolina's campuses, helping students reach their full potential. The governor was on the East Carolina campus in Greenville to announce a 4-pronged effort to fight substance abuse, including treatment.
Gov. McCrory said, "This [Treatment] is maybe the most important. I'm very pragmatic, I understand we're going to continue to have problems regardless of enforcement, because of the access, the peer pressure, and everything else. But, once someone is addicted, we've got to do everything to help them. And the earlier, the better."
McCrory added the task force would also be focused on education, prevention, and enforcement.
