RALEIGH -- Governor McCrory signed a bill, on Thursday, that helps military service members and veterans get certified more quickly in fields they've already been working in, such as law enforcement and the medical field. The Governor says veterans deserve a path from military to civilian life.
The governor said, "We're going to welcome people that are coming back from Iraq and Afghanistan and give them a heroes welcome. In addition to that, we're going to try to help them land on their feet."
Officials say there is already interest from employers throughout the state to hire veterans. The law goes into effect January 1st.
