CHARLOTTE -- After fighting the Ebola outbreak in West Africa, three missionaries are back in the US, quarantined for the next 21 days in Charlotte - even as they have shown no signs of infection. Dr. Meagan Davies, Epidemiologist with the NC Department of Health and Human Services, says Ebola is not as contagious as certain diseases but is more severe than most.

Dr. Davies said, "While we haven't had that disease here, we deal with lots of diseases that are transmitted in that way. And in some ways it's less infectious than some other diseases we more commonly deal with, but, of course, our concern is that it's a very severe disease."

David Writebol is one of the missionaries who returned by private plane late Sunday night. His wife, Nancy, remains in isolation being treated for Ebola in an Atlanta hospital.
