RALEIGH -- Rallies were held across North Carolina on Monday, Labor Day, fighting for worker's rights in the Tar Heel state. The events were organized by union and civil rights leaders. Reverend William Barber, President of the state NAACP, said it is important companies consider the needs of their employees.
Reverend Barber said, "The laborer has got to be considered first, not the profit margin."
Rallies were held in Raleigh, Greensboro, and Charlotte.
