CHARLOTTE -- The Thanksgiving travel period is just one week away, and that means crowded airports. Officials with the Transportation Security Administration were in Charlotte previewing the holiday.
Spokesperson Sari Koshetz said, "It's pretty much across the country that everybody is seeing increased travel. Last year, the period right around Thanksgiving, across the country, 25 million people traveled. It is the busiest time of the year."
Officials at Charlotte Douglas International, and most other major hubs, expect this Thanksgiving travel period -- which begins Tuesday, Nov. 25th and runs through Monday, Dec. 1st -- to break records.
