(Statewide, NC) Most of North Carolina has been spared from heavy snow and heavy rain as a massive winter storm drops snow on the northeast United States. The National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory for some areas of the western portions of the state for freezing rain, sleet and some snow. Southeastern North Carolina received the most precipitation with localized rain fall totals expected to be as high as two to three inches of rain.
