Wilmington Woman Accused Of Stealing Drugs From CVS

WILMINGTON -- A pharmacy technician is scheduled to appear in a New Hanover County courtroom today on drug charges following her arrest Monday by the State Bureau of Investigation.

The SBI’s Diversion and Environmental Crimes Unit arrested Tamika Nicole Gordon, 30, of Wilmington, on two felony counts of embezzlement of a controlled substance by an employee.

According to a press release, Gordon was a pharmacy technician at the CVS pharmacy on South 17th Street in Wilmington, and is charged with diverting multiple tablets of Alprazolam and Tramadol. Gordon was also charged with two misdemeanor counts of drug possession.

Gordon was booked into the New Hanover County detention facility after receiving an $8,000 secured bond.

This was a joint investigation with the Wilmington Police Department.
