US Airways records solid May traffic

(TEMPE, AZ) -- US Airways Group, Inc. reported that its May mainline passenger load factor went up 2.3 points to a record 85.2 percent.  The airline, with its largest hub in Charlotte, also reported May mainline revenue passenger miles were 5.6 billion, up 7.4 percent when compared to May of last year.

“Our May consolidated passenger revenue per available seat mile increased approximately 11 percent versus the same period last year,” said US Airways’ President Scott Kirby. “Our May consolidated passenger revenue per available seat mile increased approximately 11 percent versus the same period last year.”

For the month of May, US Airways’ preliminary on-time performance as reported to the U.S. Department of Transportation was 74.9 percent with a completion factor of 98.9 percent.
