(WASHINGTON, D.C.) -- A report from the Brookings Institution ranks North Carolina 11th in the nation for clean or green economy jobs.  The report says North Carolina had 78,881 green jobs in 2010.

Clean or green jobs are in sectors that produce goods and services with an environmental benefit, according to Brookings.  North Carolina's 78,881 green jobs make up 1.9 percent of all jobs in the state.

The regional rankings put the Triangle at 2nd in the nation with the most green jobs.  Charlotte ranks 33rd and the Triad 76th.
