(RALEIGH) --  A produce processor plans a new plant in Montgomery County that will create 75 new jobs. Aseptia Inc., doing business as Wright Foods, will invest $10.15 million in the project in Troy over the next three years.

Gov. Bev Perdue confirmed that project was made possible in part by a $150,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund. “Creating jobs is my top priority, Wright Food’s choice to locate this facility in Montgomery County is a testament to our excellent workforce and strong business climate,” said Gov. Perdue. “It’s great news when innovative technology, developed right here in North Carolina, translates into jobs for our people and investments in our communities.”

“We are proud that the State of North Carolina, Montgomery County, and the Town of Troy recognize the importance of agribusinesses like Aseptia to our economy and our future," said J. Michael Drozd, President and CEO of Aseptia, Inc.

The technology that will be utilized at the Troy facility was developed at North Carolina State University. “It’s great news when innovative technology, developed right here in North Carolina, translates into jobs for our people and investments in our communities,” added Perdue.
