(BLOWING ROCK) -- Town officials in Blowing Rock are expected to consider a request to add a restaurant and microbrewery in the mountain community.  The microbrewery is proposed at the Maple Lodge.

The growing industry has put Western North Carolina on the map.  A national publication has named Asheville as Beer City USA for the third year in a row.

The Blowing Rock Town Council might like to add the High Country to the like of Asheville.  They will open the floor to public comment on Tuesday. The town's Planning Board recommended approval of the permit last month.
