(WASHINGTON, D.C.) -- North Carolina U.S. Rep. Virginia Foxx has introduced a bill that would give people more flexibility in how they pay their federal taxes. She said the bill would give people an alternative to having their income tax automatically deducted.

"When you do that people really don't know how much they're paying in taxes and I think it's important that people understand the true burden of federal taxes to them," said Foxx.

The The Federal Withholding Tax Repeal Act would give taxpayers the option to pay their taxes once a year, pay them in advance or continue to have taxes withheld from their paychecks. The bill does not change a taxpayer's actual liability.
