(RALEIGH) -- With Republicans now in control of the U.S. House, the issue of redrawing district lines could pose a problem for Democrats in North Carolina. Public Policy Polling Director Tom Jensen said it will be interesting to see the extent to which Republican incumbents are willing to be unselfish.
"Republicans can create a bunch of 52-53 percent Republican districts and have the potential to pick up some more House seats and really even further get majorities in the House and Senate at the state level, but in order to do that what you have to do is take some districts that right now are 60 percent Republican and make them a little less Republican," said less Republican.
At the same time, Jensen said incumbents can be protective of their own turf, which could complicate matters.
