(RALEIGH) -- A new poll from Public Policy Polling finds unhappiness with both Republicans and Democrats over the state budget and redistricting. Spokesman Tom Jensen said only 25 percent of North Carolina voters support the proposed redistricting maps, while 35 percent are opposed to them.

"That's something where you sort of expect Democrats are against the maps, Republicans support them.  The reason voters are opposed to them overall is that Independents split against them by a 37-26 margin," said Jensen.

Overall, voters are also unhappy with legislative Democrats. Only 36 percent view them favorably, compared to 44 percent unfavorably.
