(RALEIGH) -- A judge recently ruled against a state budget provision which blocks state funding to Planned Parenthood but Rep. Justin Burr of Stanly County believes the provision will be upheld. Rep. Burr said he does not think money should go to the group.
"Folks that people elect and send to Raleigh to make decisions decided that Planned Parenthood, which is, in my option, a radical organization had no business receiving state funding," said Burr.
He added that the money, which he estimated to be about $200,000, could be better used by county health departments.
