(RALEIGH) -- Two of North Carolina's Congressmen are updating veterans on the services they have available to them.  Congressmen David Price and Brad Miller annually update North Carolina veterans on what they have been doing on Capitol Hill.

Price said they have been trying to push the President's American Jobs Act as a means of putting veterans to work. "Congress passed a $2,400 tax credit for employers that hire veterans that have been out of work.  The President has put forward a jobs plan. In my opinion the entire jobs plan deserves passage," said Price.

Both Price and Miller cite statistics that show that while national unemployment sits at 9 percent, unemployment among veterans is at 12 percent. The two North Carolina Representatives stress that they are continuing to try to live up what has become a national call, to do more for veterans after they come home in terms of jobs, health care and other issues.
