(RALEIGH) -- As the "occupy" movement continues in various cities around the country, including North Carolina, former Charlotte Mayor Pat McCrory said there could be major trouble in North Carolina next year. The Republican has not yet announced if he will run for governor, but he is getting more vocal on issues.

"Wait until the Democratic Convention comes to our state.  You're going to have thousands of people wanting to camp out on state and city and county property in Charlotte during the Democratic National Convention.  This is going to be a major safety issue.  It's going to look like Woodstock but without the good music," said McCrory.

The Democratic National Convention kicks off in Charlotte on Sept. 3, 2012.  In the meantime, McCrory said he will announce early next year whether he will run for governor or not.
