(WASHINGTON, DC) -- President Barack Obama and congressional leaders are still trading blame for the failure of the congressional "super committee" to form a deficit reduction deal, but they also want Congress to work out an agreement before painful automatic budget cuts take place in 2013.
North Carolina Congressman Walter Jones tells NCNN he didn't have a lot of faith in the committee. "I didn't think they'd get anything done, and I don't know why the leadership of the House just doesn't do a public announcement," he said. "I am demanding that the committees of jurisdictions start analyzing and cutting what can be cut. I'm like the American people, I'm very disappointed that we ended up with zero."
Jones added that he is worried about mandatory cuts to defense spending and their affect on North Carolina bases.
