(ASHEVILLE) -- A bill awaiting Governor Beverly Perdue's signature could help attract two large brewers to the Asheville area, bringing in jobs and visitors. The State Legislature passed a bill that would allow big brewers to sell their product on site, like smaller ones can.

The two brewers in question are rumored to be Sierra Nevada and New Belgium. Asheville-based Highland Brewing owner Oscar Wong says the new rule could give the companies a big advantage. He says they have much deeper pockets than local companies and could set up more lavish tasting venues and pubs that smaller companies couldn't afford.

Wong says the moves would make the smaller companies work even harder to stay relevant. He adds the moves would be great for the local economy. It is reported that the two could create 300 jobs in the area.
