(WASHINGTON, D.C.) -- After failing to agree on spending cuts to pay for a full year of extending the payroll tax cut, the U.S. Senate approved a two-month extension. House leadership is rejecting the Senate bill, but North Carolina Republican Congresswoman Virginia Foxx said she does favor extending the two percent payroll tax cut.
"That allows the American people, the average couple, to keep about a thousand dollars of their money," said Foxx.
But House Republican leaders are preparing to make changes to the Senate approved measure. House Speaker John Boehner has said he wants more than a two month extension.
