(RALEIGH) -- A cold front moved into North Carolina late Sunday and brought with it frigid Canadian air. North Carolina News Network meteorologist Mike Moss said the entire state is experiencing a bit of a shock.
"Any wintry weather associated with this cold blast looks like it's going to be confined mostly to the mountain. There is a winter weather advisory in effect there for tonight (Monday) and we may see as much as 1 to 4 inches of snow in parts of the mountains overnight and also wind chills there that reach into the single digits to as much as 5 to 10 degrees below zero," said Moss.
He said wind chills will be a factor across much of the state, but not nearly as severe as in the mountains. Moss does not expect any low temperature records to be broken across the state. Warmer temperatures are expected by about Thursday.
