(ROCKY MOUNT) -- Some North Carolinians who are living in poverty got the chance to tell their stories at a listening session in Rocky Mount as part of the NAACP'S lead up to the “Truth and Hope Tour.” The tour begins this month.
The tour aims to address policies that hurt the poor, as well as to bring change. Listening sessions were held Thursday in locations in parts of eastern North Carolina with one goal: to learn from the difficulties low-income people face.
After the series of listening sessions, there will be a series of town hall meetings this month.
