(RALEIGH) -- A new Public Policy Polling survey showed that more North Carolina voters will be rooting for the Tar Heels during the UNC-Duke men’s basketball game Wednesday night.
"We have 41 percent of North Carolinians rooting for Carolina, 31 percent for Duke, so Carolina with a 10 point lead but this is actually the fifth year in a row we've asked this poll and this is the smallest the Tar Heel's advantage has ever been, for whatever reason," said the polling firm's Tom Jensen.
Poll participants were also asked about each of the coaches. UNC-Chapel Hill coach Roy Williams and Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski both still received favorable opinions. Krzyzewski received a 51 percent favorability rating and a 15 percent unfavorable rating, while Williams saw a 51 percent favorability rating and a 10 percent unfavorable rating.
