Legislative effectiveness survey puts Republican leadership on top |

(RALEIGH) -- Republican lawmakers claimed all ten of the top spots in the most recent survey of legislative effectiveness by a statewide policy research groups. Ran Coble with the North Carolina Center for Public Policy Research said its not surprising the top leaders in both chambers are listed number one and number two.
"The 2009 session, the Democrats had a larger majority but this time the Republicans reversed that. The Republicans now have a 68 to 52 majority in the House and a 31 to 19 majority in the Senate," said Coble.
Senate President Pro Tem Phil Berger ranked first, followed by House Speaker Thom Tillis. The Centers rankings are based on responses from lawmakers, lobbyists and reporters covering state government.
