(CHAPEL HILL) -- President Barack Obama is making stops at three college campuses in battleground states, including North Carolina. The President is pushing congress to take action so interest rates on key students loans do not double. Matt Connley, the press secretary for the Republican National Committee's Southeast Region said there are other issues involving students that need to be addressed.
"As a lot of parents out there have seen, it's harder for students to get a job when the graduate school now, so those are all things that are important to students and those are things that he is going to have to address," said Connley. "He's going to have to talk about not only why college is at an all time high for them but why they are not able to find jobs once they leave college."
UNC-Chapel Hill is Mr. Obama's first college campus stop this week. After his 1:05 p.m. speech at Carmichael Arena on Tuesday, he heads to the University of Colorado at Boulder. On Wednesday he takes his message to the University of Iowa.
Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney has already said that he agrees with plans to freeze interest rates that would rise in July for poor and middle class college students.
