(RALEIGH) -- A group of female lawmakers at the General Assembly says the GOP leadership is making decisions harmful to women in areas such as reproductive rights. Rep. Alma Adams said she is especially concerned about cuts to Planned Parenthood.
"Republicans voted to ban health departments from contracting with Planned Parenthood. Planned Parenthood saves lives by providing preventive care and health counseling to tens of thousands of North Carolinians every year," said Adams.
Adams is supporting legislation that would restore funding for Planned Parenthood that was cut in the state budget.
