(WASHINGTON, D.C.) -- North Carolina Congressman David Price, who is co-chair of the House Democracy Partnership, returned recently from two days of meetings with Afghan parliamentary leaders. The meetings coincided with the enactment of the US-Afghanistan Strategic Partnership Agreement.
Price said he will be watching their upcoming elections closely. "It's important that all of these elections go well and, then between elections and that's where we come in, that that parliament function in a way that gives people assurance that their interests are being represented," said Price. Price met president Harmid Karzai, opposition leaders and member of the parliament.
