(CHARLOTTE) -- Gas prices continue to go down in North Carolina and the rest of the country. Tom Crosby of AAA Carolinas said prices are well below what they were a year ago.

"In North Carolina, it's about $3.38 a gallon and that's really great," said Crosby. "That's 17 cents less than a month ago and even better news than that is that we're looking at about 24 cents less than a year ago."

Crosby said we have seen prices at the pump drop daily since April 6 when they peaked at a little over 3.90 a gallon.
