(RALEIGH) -- The North Carolina Utilities Commission is conducting a hearing on Tuesday where they are expected to question Duke Energy CEO Jim Rogers over the recent merger of Duke Energy and Progress Energy. The Commission ordered the hearing after the last-minute decision to reverse plans for Progress Energy CEO Bill Johnson to head the merged company.
State regulators are expected to ask some tough questions of Rogers. In an order issued by the Commission, they indicate that they want to know from Rogers about the timing surrounding the decision to replace Johnson.
The Commission also stated in the order for, "Duke and Progress to take all necessary actions to preserve all letters, agreements, notes, minutes, memos, emails and other written and recorded documents and records directly or indirectly relating in any way to the merger."
The hearing is scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday in Raleigh.
