(RALEIGH) -- State Agriculture Commission Steve Troxler hosted the 8th Annual Food Safety Forum in Raleigh Tuesday. He discussed the future of food safety.
Troxler noted that when it comes to the number of recalls compared to the amount of food produced in the US the number is not that high. "I do hope that people remember that we do have the safest food supply in the world and I'm thankful for the agriculture that we have in North Carolina that helps supply a lot of food," said Troxler.
Among those attending the forum were some of the nation’s food safety experts, members of the Congressional Delegation, industry leaders, regulators, public health officials, emergency management, and academia.
