(RALEIGH) -- An organization created to promote physical activity is making a move itself. The North Carolina Be Active campaign is being consolidated into North Carolina Prevention Partners.

North Carolina Prevention Partners CEO Meg Molloy said this will complement what they are already doing. "To add the physical activity element to our tobacco and nutrition work and it really also gives us all an opportunity to step back and take a look at how we can strategically partner with all the groups in the state that are already doing some very good things for physical activity," said Molloy.

The BeActive group will invest about $1 million to establish a "legacy" fund which will help fund ongoing projects to promote exercise and other ways to improve the health of the state's residents. Be Active NC was created in 1989 with help from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina.
