(DURHAM) -- President Obama won North Carolina by just five votes in every precinct in 2008, and on Wednesday, the First Lady visited North Carolina Central University and East Carolina University. Michelle Obama reminded students why it is important to register and cast a ballot this year.
Three thousand supporters listened at NC Central as Mrs. Obama made the case for her husband's re-election. Anita Walton of Raleigh waited five hours in line to get in.
"I'm excited to have the First Lady on campus. It gives us a great opportunity to learn a little bit more about the President's plan for his next tenure in office and she's always inspiring and inspirational and so it's just a tremendous opportunity to have her here"
In Mrs. Obama's speech, that was often interrupted by deafening applause, she talked about issues that hit home with the crowd, like student loans, health care, and jobs.
