Researchers at Duke University, and the Durham VA Medical Center, have found that there is a connection between post traumatic stress disorder and the size of the brain ... particularly the area that's critical for regulating fear and anxiety.

Dr. Raj Morey, study lead author says conducted an MRI scan on 200 veterans then measured a part of the brain known as the amygdela .....what's next for their research

"Whether this brain area was smaller to begin with or is the smaller amygdala a consequence of exposure to severe psychological traumatic stress. This is kind of the next big hurdle"
