RALEIGH -- Many questions are being asked as the implementation of the Affordable Care Act is matching up with the open enrollment period for Medicare. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Principal Deputy Administrator Jonathan Blum is confident the program will work the same way as before, only with more options available at lower costs.
According to Blum, "The main two benefits are that we have added free coverage for routine preventative services like cancer screenings, or mammographies, or colonoscopies. The other important change is that the Part-D drug benefit is more generous." Blum added that if you are happy with your current plan there is no need to change. The open enrollment period runs through December 7th.
