RALEIGH -- A ride operator who faces three charges in connection with that accident at the State Fair Thursday had his first court appearance Monday. 46 year old Timothy Tutterow of Georgia faces charges of tampering with the Vortex. Wake County District Attorney Colon Willoughby says there's still lot of information to sift through in this case.
Willoughby said, "I think there's additional inspections of the equipment, trying to make sure they know exactly what happened. And then try to figure out the why [it happened]. I think there's still some unanswered questions that we're trying to get to the bottom of, and going to make sure that we have all of the information. It's very serious charges and we want to make sure we're proceeding in the right way."
The three who remain hospitalized are 29 year old Anthony Gorham, 39 year old Kisha Gorham, and a 14-year-old juvenile.
