RALEIGH -- Gas prices are at a three year low for this time of  year, and airfares are one-percent lower.

AAA Carolinas spokesperson Angela Vogel Daily says it's just in time for the Thanksgiving travel weekend.

"We expect about 1,291,000 North Carolinians to travel this holiday period and 90% of those will be driving."

The Thanksgiving holiday period is defined as Wednesday, Nov. 27, to Sunday, Dec. 1.
