RALEIGH -- Roads may be dangerous in the aftermath of the winter storm across the Tar Heel state. State Department of Transportation crews are on the roads, but there are bound to be some trouble spots. Angela Vogel-Daley, Communications Director with AAA Carolinas, says if you find yourself skidding it is important not to panic and to remember the car goes where the eyes go.

According to Vogel-Daley, “Take your foot off the break, and look and steer in the direction you want to go. You should be able to regain traction.”

Vogel-Daley added that vehicle maintenance is key during the frigid temperatures, including batteries losing their charge. It is also recommended to keep your gas tank over half full to avoid frozen gas lines.
