RALEIGH -- Fixing the economy seems to be at the top of the priority list of nearly every politician, especially as we are heading into the mid-term elections this November.
US Agriculture Secretary Tom Villsack says that comprehensive immigration reform is a way to radically improve the economy, especially in the Tar Heel state.
"In North Carolina there are roughly 60,000 farms and 46% of their workforce are immigrants."
Villsack drew comparison with the lack of immigration reform to the hesitation from Congress to pass a farm bill, saying that reform would have positive effects on multiple sectors of the economy.
