WINSTON-SALEM -- Brenner Children's Hospital, the pediatric arm of Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, has installed a webcam system in its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Dr. Cherrie Welch- Medical Director of Brenner's Nurseries- describes the new technology.
"It's a secure webcam service where parents can log in from their phone, or any computer anywhere in the world, and be able to see live footage
of their baby at that very moment in the NICU."
She said you see just the baby's face, not necessarily the whole body. So, you can look to see if the baby is sleeping, taking a bottle, or awake and looking at the camera.
