DURHAM -- State lawmakers have agreed to a budget, which is now on its way to Governor Pat McCrory for his signature. Among the contingent that is unhappy with the proposed budget is Reverend William Barber, President of the state NAACP, who says the legislators have failed North Carolinians.
Rev. Barber says, "We believe that this legislature has engaged in a form of political and budgetary mismanagement. The way that they have done these budgets in the last two years. And in the way in which they have attacked voting rights."
Barber added that he is disappointed the state is still refusing federal Medicaid expansion.
