RALEIGH -- Governor Pat McCrory spoke Tuesday on the growing situation at the United States border, saying that the issue is now affecting North Carolina. According to Governor McCrory, the number of immigrant children entering the Tar Heel state this year has more than doubled from this point in 2013.

Governor McCrory said, "Approximately 1,200 of these unaccompanied children have already been placed in North Carolina. We have yet to get the month-end report for this past 30 days, so we anticipate that number to grow fairly dramatically."

Governor McCrory called on the President and lawmakers to cancel their vacation plans and remain in Washington until a resolution is reached.
