GREENVILLE -- Governor Pat McCrory announced his administration's new transportation infrastructure plan, deemed the governor's "25-year vision", on Wednesday. McCrory said they are working to improve mobility of products coming into the Tar Heel state.
McCrory said, "We're going to complete three multi-billion dollar projects on Highway 70, to make traffic and freight move faster from the port to I-95. That includes an upgrade to the highway in New Bern near the Coastal Carolina Airport that will help connect our Marines to better healthcare and education."
McCrory added the plan will extend beyond highways to incorporate the state's ports, rail, and airports. Transportation Secretary Tony Tata said his instructions from the governor were to use the infrastructure in a fashion that would increase jobs.
