RALEIGH -- Falling gas prices and an improving economy are contributing to an increase in Labor Day holiday travel for the third straight year for North Carolinians.
Tiffany Wright is at the Motor Club in Charlotte.
"We're going to see the most travelers we've seen in about seven years on the roads and a large factor of that is gas prices being the lowest they've been in over a decade."
More than a million people in North Carolina are expected to travel 50 miles or more from home . That's a 1% increase from 2014. Of those travelers, 880,000, or 86%, will be driving.
