RALEIGH, N.C.  -The State Highway Patrol responded to a fatal head-on collision in Wake County Tuesday.

According to investigators, at approximately 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 5, 2016, a black Acura passenger vehicle, operated by Bernardo Garcia Murillo, 29, of Wake Forest, was traveling west on Rock Spring Church Road near Rogers Quarters Road when he attempted to pass in a no passing zone. As the vehicle began to pass, he met a white Ford pickup truck, operated by Steven Edward Piotrowski, 44, of Creedmor, traveling east. Both drivers attempted to avoid the collision but collided head-on. As a result of the collision, Mr. Murillo died. The driver of the Ford pickup, Mr. Piotrowski, sustained minor injuries.

No charges will be made in this case.
