RALEIGH, N.C. -- Add Cirque Du Soleil to the list of companies banning North Carolina because of House Bill 2.  The company announces it's boycotting North Carolina, due to the controversial LGBT law.

The Canadian based acrobatic company has cancelled its plans to bring three performances to our state this year.  They are the shows , "OVO" in Greenboro April 20-24, and Charlotte July 6-10, and "Toruk, The First Flight," which would have been in Raleigh from June 22nd through 26th.

Cirque Du Soleil explains this decision, saying the company, "Believes in equality for all," and "Making a better world with our actions and  productions."

It says, "We sincerely hope that the customers that have purchased tickets for our performances in North Carolina will understand our motivation and we look forward to performing in North Carolina when this issue is addressed."

The company is automatically reimbursing on-line and phone ticket purchases.  In person purchases must return to the point of purchase for refunds.  The customer service number is 1-877-924-7783.
