(CHAPEL HILL) -- UNC fullback Devon Ramsay remaining one season of football eligibility was restored Thursday by the NCAA. The sanctioning body found Ramsay did not violate NCAA academic rules. Ramsay played the first four games of the 2010 season but sat out the rest of the season after an an e-mail exchange with tutor Jennifer Wiley suggested changes to a three-page paper for a sociology class. The e-mail exchanged was deemed a violation of the NCAA’s academic policies.   Based on new information provided by the university, the NCAA ruled that Ramsay did not violate NCAA rules. A rising senior from Red Bank, N.J., Ramsay has been cleared to return to the team and has one season of eligibility remaining.
