(CHARLOTTE) -- The price of gas in North Carolina has dropped about a penny so far this week. While some analysts believe that prices could fall as much as 50 cents nationally by July, Tom Crosby of AAA Carolinas Motor Club is not ready to go that far.

"I think anybody that's making an exact prediction on how much the draw-back will affect the price of gas is just purely guessing. There's a lot of demand in other countries for oil, more than there has been in the past, so whether we'll see 50 cent, 75 cent decline, I don't think anybody can say it," said Crosby.

The average price of a gallon of gas in North Carolina on Tuesday was $3.86.
