(RALEIGH) -- For the second consecutive year, the North Carolina State Fair attracted over 1-million visitors. Spokesman Brian Long said over 100-thousand people showed up at the fairground on Sunday as the Fair wrapped up.
"We usually have a big weekend on the final weekend and this year was no exception. We had tremendous crowd out here Saturday, and really yesterday's crowd was phenomenal," said Long.
The total attendance for the 144th North Carolina State Fair was 1,009,173, about 82,000 short of last year's record.
