(ASHEVILLE) -- There is no proof on paper yet, but experts are expecting October to be a huge month for local businesses. Asheville Convention and Visitors Bureau Executive Director Kelly Miller says it may even be a record.
He says everything was nearly perfect for leaf lookers with fantastic color, warmer daytime temperatures and an extra weekend than usual in the month. He says Moogfest also helped bring a lot of interest on Halloween weekend.
Miller says after checking in with random local businesses, he's hearing that business was booming for most. He says it's always difficult to keep the ball rolling after leaf season, but with holiday attractions at Biltmore and the Grove Park Inn, it's not a dead time by any stretch.
